Robert Frost Mountain Cabins
is Proudly Pet-Friendly

We are happy to welcome well-mannered, friendly pets at Robert Frost Mountain Cabins in Vermont! Enjoy pet friendly lodging at our vacation cabin rentals near Burlington and Middlebury. We provide our four-legged* guests with a welcome bag that includes extra bedding, two bowls, a temporary tag to help return your pet to RFMC should they go astray and bags for waste removal.

*Whitbee the cat would like us to clarify that four legs are not a requirement.

We are thrilled to announce we are expanding the tradition of Carol’s famous cinnamon twists to include a morning twist for our four-legged guests. So when you arrive and place your complimentary cinnamon twist order, make sure to inform us if a treat for your dog or a toy for your cat should be included with your picnic basket that we’ll deliver 8:00-ish on the first morning of your stay. Flavors for dog twists include peanut butter, chicken, or bacon and cheese; cat toys can include cat nip or be nip-free.

To ensure a comfortable and enjoyable stay for all of our guests, please review and adhere to our pet policy guidelines:

Pet-Friendly Cabins:

Pets are welcome in only three of our cabins - Cabin 4: Serene Outlook, Cabin 5: Owl’s Branch, and Cabin 7: Hemlock Hideaway - as well as the Annex for extended stays. Our remaining cabins maintain a strict no-pet policy to ensure a safe and clean environment for guests with allergies or sensitivities.

Fees & Limits: There is an additional fee of $25 per pet, per night, with a maximum of two pets per cabin. We try to limit the number of dogs on site to four at any one time as the grounds are not a dog park, and we wish to preserve the cabins' serenity for all our guests.

Pet Guidelines: While on our grounds, we ask that you please observe the following pet-iquette:

  • Pets must be kept on a leash when outside and around the cabin grounds.
  • Pets may not be left unsupervised in the cabins and must be monitored and/or properly contained at all times.
  • Pets are not allowed directly on furniture, please utilize the extra pet bedding provided as a protective barrier to prevent unintentional damage.
  • Owners are required to clean up after your pet promptly and properly. Please dispose of pet waste in the designated bin adjacent to the guest trash and recycling between Cabin 5 and Cabin 6.
  • Guests are financially responsible for any damage caused by their pets to the buildings, furnishings and grounds, and must guarantee and authorize payment to cover all associated costs.

Thank you for your cooperation in helping us maintain a peaceful, pet-friendly environment for all. We look forward to hosting you and your furry friend in the near future!
